My Exercise Physiology Philosophy:

An object in motion stays in motion!!! What I mean by this is two-fold:

- Physical Health – when you continue to move your body, your body will continue moving and working most optimally for you. Once you stop moving, your body will stop working optimally for you. Many chronic illnesses and injuries arise after extended inactivity.

- Mental and Emotional Health – once you find a mode of exercise that works and is enjoyable for you, its easier and easier to find a routine and continue to show up for yourself each week. Showing up for yourself in one thing has a domino effect on showing up in other elements in your life.

What do you love about Studio Ness?

First and foremost, the community!!

I love being part of a group of people who continue to show up and support each other through their health and fitness, but also life! I am always hearing people checking in on each other and reaching out to those who have not come to the studio in a while.

I also love the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in there are vibrant paintings lining the wall and friendly faces greeting you! It’s such a refreshing change after experiencing dull, intimidating gyms throughout my training and work experience.

Favourite Rehabilitation Exercise to prescribe:

Balance exercises, whether it be static or dynamic balance. Once you master stability, then progressing exercises becomes a whole lot easier!

Functional exercises that are individualised for the person in front of me are also a favourite of mine. Exercises that help to make day to day activities and hobbies easier are the most beneficial for independence, longevity, and enjoyment of life!

Favourite Exercise to do yourself:

Rock Climbing and roller-skating are my main passions! In my spare time you will find me at the climbing gym, climbing real rocks, a skatepark, or falling off a surf board as I’m trying to learn!

My parents often force me to run the 10km leg of triathlons (mum does the swim, dad does the bike), and I also fit in strength training at least twice a week.

Bragging rites/ Fun facts:

  • I learnt how to do a backflip on a snowboard on a ski season in Canada
  • I went on exchange to France in Highschool to live with a French family andbecame quite proficient in the language. I’m trying to get it back again…
  • I am currently learning how to do an arial (cartwheel without hands) on rollerskates.
  • I looooove a boogie!!!

Life Motto:

"Wherever you are, be there totally"

What my Studio Ness Team would say about me in one sentence:

"She is so dedicated and passionate to get the most out of her clients. She brings with her such a positive, motivating, fun energy... and that laugh... So infectious. She lifts everybody up and helps them achieve their BEST"
